Harrisville Designs represents the handful of woolen mills left in the United States. Textiles have been in our family for over six generations and we are proud to keep the over 200 year legacy alive.

HARRISVILLE DESIGNS

In 1970, as American textiles went overseas and the mills of Harrisville, New Hampshire closed their doors, Chick Colony decided to do the impossible: start a textile company. 50 years later, they still make the high quality looms, yarns, and children’s weaving products that put them on the map. Their’s is a story of preservation and perseverance, and the townspeople that made it all possible.

I had the opportunity to direct, shoot, and score this film. It was a rare chance to invent a unified visual and aural style. I chose a saturated and floating quality for the visuals and reflected that in the score by using a mixture of reverberant, saturated sound alongside dry and grounded instruments like open-tuned guitars.
